Heraldry Embellished

MANY moons ago, back in my nascent days of toying with graphics filters, etc., I created a company called Heraldry Embellished. Its goal was to take “flat color” achievements and enhance them with Photoshop filters of various sorts. The results varied from awesome to weak (especially because I hadn’t learned RESTRAINT in using the right and wrong filters – just because you CAN use filters, doesn’t mean you SHOULD – I know of a couple of “professional artists” who have never learned his lesson, and the results look awful – yet they still get commissioned)…

Some of these were original lineart emblazonments by other artists which I then digitally colored for The American College of Heraldry. I then threw a lot of filters at them to see what stuck to the wall.

Others of these examples were created out of whole cloth (clipart) and node-adjusted as needed.

Included are escutcheons-only, full achievements, badges, flags, standards, numismatics (even got a commendation from the South Carolina Military Department for one), various graphics for The Legion of Frontiersmen, heraldic business logos, and even one for the 351st MP Battalion “Paladins” (which they used on signage in country).

I don’t really do this sort of “excessive” filtering these days, as it simply takes too much time. But for the sake of posterity, I post them here…
